Johnathon Davey
Johnathon Davey joined Melons Australia as the Executive Officer in March 2021. Following a very successful 7 years as the head of the Victorian seafood industry peak body, where Johnathon led the united voice of the Victorian seafood industry, including constitution reform and strategic planning, he has joined the Melons Australia Board and has reformed the internal operations of Melons Australia. In a COVID-19 interrupted first 18 months, Johnathon has reformed the financial processes and transparency for Melons Australia, developed and implemented a new Strategic Plan, and has continued to advocate for our melon primary producers, and the broader supply network.
Johnathon approaches his work with a sincere passion for supporting and representing industry to the highest degree, and is readily available to all sectors within the Australian melon industry. Reform continues to be at the forefront of the work being undertaken by Johnathon, with focus shifting toward a Constitution review and ensuring R,D & E activities are of direct benefit and provide a return to the Australian melon industry.
Joanna Embry
Biosecurity Officer
Jo Embry is employed as the Melon Industry Biosecurity Officer. Prior to re-joining the melon industry after 14 years, she worked across a number of other horticulture industries and positions in industry, the private sector, overseas Aid and government. Her passion lies in the opportunity to work with growers and other members of the industry to implement on farm practices to reduce the risks of biosecurity incursions. Her aim is to work both with growers and broader industry to identify tools which make achieving this more feasible, efficient and streamlined with other current management practices.
Courtney Archer
Communications Officer
With a Marketing Degree and 7+ years of Marketing and Communications experience under her belt, Courtney is passionate about connecting people through effective digital communications. Courtney’s most recent role saw her lead the marketing activities nationally for Markwell Foods Australia and, with some knowledge of the Australian food industry, Courtney is passionate about connecting the industry through communications.
